‘Trump is My Friend...but My Foreign Policy Has Shifted From Pro-Western’

Duterte added in clips prominently featured by the Russian government funded channel, that he had “nothing against America. Trump is my friend. But my foreign policy has shifted from pro-Western. I now have this working alliance with China, and I hope to establish good working relations with Russia. Why? Because the Western world, EU and everything, they have this double talk.” Duterte went on to accuse the Americans of hoping he’d fight China over the country’s territorial dispute with Beijing in the South China Sea. Duterte’s language was so blunt, even the Russian female interviewer was taken aback. How did one of the most pro-American countries on the face of the Earth, and certainly one of the most Americanized nations in Southeast Asia elect this man?

The Roots of Duterte’s Rage Against Obama and the CIA/Islamist Connection in SE Asia

The Russian Analyst is not a Philippines or Southeast Asian specialist. Nonetheless, we don’t have to be experts on the Philippines to notice, as Global Research.ca has, that Mr. Duterte’s ISIS problem ramped up months after he condemned the lame duck President Barack Obama as a ‘son of a whore’ [putang in Tagalog, derived from the Spanish word puta]. As investigative journalist Wayne Madsen reported last year, the history of bad blood between Duterte and Obama predates Obama’s presidency, and likely has to do with Duterte’s knowledge that the 44th President of the United States’ CIA grandparents were linked to, and may have arranged for the safe exile of the late and loathed Filipino dictator Ferdinand Marcos. Obama’s mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, after the end of her marriage to the President's nominal (but not likely biological) father Barack Obama Sr., wed an Indonesian Army officer named Pak Lolo Soetoro, who helped another CIA asset in Major General Suharto seize power in a bloody 1965 coup. Ms. Dunham went on to work for the frequently CIA linked in Southeast Asia USAID and Ford Foundation.

It was no accident that many of the movements following the CIA-sponsored coup that sought to purge Communists and suspected Red China sympathizers with ethnic Chinese origins from public life had overtly Islamist agendas. Many ethnic Chinese who had been more successful in trade than their neighbors fled for their lives to Malaysia, Singapore or Taiwan.

For this reason, and on account of his frequently mentioned in meetings with Chinese envoys grandfather who was ethnically Chinese, Duterte needed no more recent reasons to loathe Obama or flaunt his opposition to Washington.

Not All is As It Seems in Marawi --
Rumors of Filipino Oligarch Coup Plot Linked to Islamic State Attack

Nonetheless, as blogger Lada Ray writes, the situation in Southeast Asia is complex, and not everything is as it seems in the Philippines. What looked like a terrorist attack on a Manila casino that killed 36 people last week is now said by Filipino authorities to have been the work of one crazed indebted gambling addict. And the partial takeover of the population 200,000+ Marawi City in southern Mindanao by ISIS, may also not be what it looks like. According to a Filipino whistleblower’s account picked up by the local news source News Graph and excerpted at The Duran, some of the Maute Group terrorists who took over Marawi may be in cahoots with oligarchs plotting Duterte’s overthrow:

According to News Graph, the source of the leaked information is a worker inside the Liberal Party whose name has not been disclosed for his protection. As a point of reference, this is if anything, more reliable than the totally anonymous leaks that have been spilling out of the Trump administration.

There is indeed a logic to the information contained leaks from the Liberal Party whistle blower. Duterte’s opposition have been deeply critical of his decision to declare temporary martial law on the island of Mindanao. Many would be desirous to exploit the situation in order to attempt to create ‘regime change’ in Philippines. Indeed many are all ready agitating in such a direction.

The information from the alleged leak could imply that the entire scenario is orchestrated as a kind of sick pact between ‘real’ and ‘bogus’ ISIS fighters and opposition parties in Manila with the clear intent to force Duterte in to the present situation wherein martial law has been deemed necessary.

As the post implies, such kinds of orchestrated instability was common before the era of Ferdinand Marcos.

If this information turns out to be true, it could go a long way in explaining the clockwork like timing of the ISIS offensive when President Duterte was away and in Moscow no less, meeting with President Vladimir Putin.

These claims should be scrutinized further but nevertheless, they should be taken seriously.

ISIS Destroys a Church to Incite Muslim-Christian Hatred in Historically Tolerant Philippines

The filmed desecration of a Roman Catholic church by ISIS terrorists (or alternatively, ‘crisis actors’ playing jihadists) may also be another sign the group and its hidden sponsors both in the country and abroad are seeking to enflame tensions between the Philippines Catholic/Evangelical Christian majority and the Muslim minority in the southern part of the country. The model of ‘divide and conquer’ that was used to pit Orthodox Christian Serbs against Muslim Bosniaks in the former Yugoslavia to destroy that country in the late 1980s/early 1990s is worth recalling here. To counteract sectarian incitement, one notices that Russian government funded outlet RT has highlighted the heroism of a Muslim Filipino evacuated by the Army from Marawi who hid a group of local Christians from the terrorists.

If the latest ISIS surge in the Philippines represents just another desperate move by globalists who don’t want to see the Southeast Asian nation integrated into China’s Maritime Silk Road initiative with a military increasingly armed by Russia rather than America, it appears such plans will backfire. Defeating the terrorists is likely to increase rather than decrease Duterte’s tough guy image and popularity among the Filipinos who elected him to office.
